Post-doctoral Fellowship in Molecular Imaging
National Institutes of Health
This position is located in the NIH Clinical Center, Radiology and Imaging Sciences, Hammoud Laboratory. A two-year postdoctoral fellowship position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Dima A. Hammoud in the Center for Infectious Disease Imaging, Radiology and Imaging Sciences Department, Clinical Center, NIH. The major focus of the laboratory is using various advanced imaging modalities including MRI and Positron Emission Tomography to better understand the pathophysiology underlying infectious disease manifestations in the brain and other organs. The ultimate goal is to develop imaging biomarkers that can be used as surrogate endpoints in clinical trials whether therapeutic or preventative. The laboratory has access to an Inveon microPET/CT scanner, multiple state of the art human PET and PET/CT scanners, radiochemistry, biology, chemistry, and tissue culture labs.

We are looking for a motivated Ph.D., M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. candidate with molecular imaging or Imaging Sciences background. Candidates should have graduated no more than 36 months prior to the projected start date. A background in imaging of animal models, such as non-human primates and rodents, especially with PET, is highly desirable. Experience in analysis of PET data from rodents, non-human primates and patients, and proficiency in using specialized PET analysis software (pmod and SPM) is an advantage.
To apply to this position, please send your cover letter, resume and names and addresses of three references to Dima Hammoud, M.D. (hammoudd@cc.nih.gov). Applications received by February 15, 2019 will receive first consideration. The stipend for this fellowship is commensurate with experience and number of years since completing graduate school. |
