Fuller Hospital is a 102-bed licensed, private psychiatric facility located in South Attleboro, Mass. Inpatient units are designed to treat adults with general psychiatric or intellectual disabilities, as well as adolescents with general psychiatric issues. Patients with co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse disorders can be treated on most units. There are also partial hospitalization programs (PHP) for patients with psychiatric and co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse disorders For the safety of our patients, all new hires are drug tested and background checks are run to include CORI, criminal, prior employment verification, education verification, and references. The position begins as per diem, but will turn into part time and then full time as the case load increases.
Implements Treatment Plan as developed by In-home Therapist and treatment team. Develops goals and objectives each meeting with patient and family members in conjunction with treatment plan goals. Provides therapeutic support to patients and families and ensures goals and objectives are clearly identified and progress documented. Able to provide de-escalation as needed during sessions through therapeutic interventions. Effective conducts 1:1 and family meetings around addressing issues, developing coping skills, anger management skills, and assists in educating patients and families around trigger identification, therapeutic communication, and establishing healthy boundaries.
The Therapeutic Mentor documents each session to ensure clear identification of patient and family progress, compliance with the treatment and safety plans, and overall program compliance. Able to assess and communicate issues or concerns with patients to the In-home Therapist and Program Manager to ensure appropriate level of care. Attends multidisciplinary team meetings as requested, and provides input to team members regarding psychosocial problems, overall treatment objectives, and treatment and discharge planning for each patient as reflected in written documentation.
The Therapeutic Mentor participates in educational and other activities that helps develop and expand clinical competency in areas of responsibility. Attends and participates in staff meetings. Attends and participates in all mandatory in-services. Attends and participates in voluntary in-services. Assists with the orientation of new staff members. Maintains a record of educational activities. Provides the Human Resources Department with copies of any training, seminars or professional development programs attended.
Adheres to Fuller Hospital policies, procedures, and Employee Handbook guidelines. Identifies, initiates and actively supports positive relations with co-workers and all others. Demonstrates conflict resolution skills in the strengthening of inter/intra-departmental working relationships. Facilitates the interaction of co-workers and all others by maintaining open and positive communication. Identifies and supports the delivery of positive customer service. Initiates cooperative efforts to develop mechanisms to support and enhance customer service. Initiates and ensures resolution to customer needs. Conducts all interactions in a confidential, courteous professional and timely manner. Recognizes the needs of patients, families, visitors, physicians and all internal and external customers; adapts communication style as necessary.
