In addition to six months to one year of relevant experience, ideal candidates should appropriate training for laboratory testing to perform duties as a Histotechnician and HT Certification (ASCP) preferred. When you join the team, some of what you will do includes:
Accession specimens into the laboratory information system
Prepare blocks of tissue for slide mounting in order to facilitate diagnosis
Perform histochemical stains proficiently
Perform daily quality control
Assists in bone marrow procedures
Accurately file slides and blocks and prepare routine reagents in compliance with universal precautions
Process phone requests and questions in order to provide timely, effective laboratory information services
