JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for all front-end administrative / reception responsibilities in the school-based clinic (i.e., receipt of referrals, outreach to patients/families to schedule appointments, preparation and maintenance of provider schedules and billing ledgers, communication with providers, clinical coordinators, and stakeholders regarding appointment schedules and referral status). Responsible for obtaining patient insurance information, verifying benefits, and communicating with patients/families and providers about benefit verification. Provide assistance with overall organization of the school-based clinics (i.e., filing, organizing medical records, responding to records requests, organizing/re-ordering supplies).
Assist medical provider with patient visits, including obtaining height/weight, vitals, and medication reconciliation. Provide exceptional customer service over the phone and in person to all patients/families/guests. Provide a safe, secure, therapeutic, and professional environment at all times.

Education: High School Diploma or GED. Completion of Medical Assistant or CNA program and Illinois certification strongly preferred.
Experience: At least one year previous experience with healthcare scheduling and/or billing practices strongly preferred.
Licensure/Certification: None. Illinois certification as a CNA or Medical Assistant strongly preferred.
Knowledge: Working knowledge of Hospital safety policy and procedures. Excellent communications skills
Supervision Received: Clinical Coordinator of School Based Services and Executive Director of Outpatient Services.

Working Conditions. Exposure to psychiatric patients who may exhibit violent/aggressive behavior. Potential for exposure to communicable diseases, blood/body fluids and other hazardous waste. General outpatient clinic and school environments.
Physical Requirements: Ability to communicate verbally in clear concise manner. Push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds. Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending and stooping.
