Performs and is responsible for the completion of technical analyses in either chemistry, microbiology, blood bank, hematology, or overall supervision of lab on P.M. or assigned shift; Performs a variety of standardized tests in any or all of the fields of medical technology; Maintains supplies for specialty area; Evaluates new and/or improved tests methodologies and updated current procedures; Records and updates quality control data; Performs necessary preventive maintenance on all equipment and documents it; Tabulates and compiles data for monthly workload recording; Supervises work flow, evaluates test results and spot checks for clerical errors; Responsible for the orientation and instruction of new technologists and lab aides; Maintains their respective department and keeps equipment in clean and orderly condition; Prepares analytical reports as required; and Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Clinical Chemistry or related field required.
48 months of experience required.
Must possess a valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist License issued by the State of California Department of Health Services.
