Valley Children's Healthcare is seeking a knowledgeable Radiology Technologist to join a team that strives to be the best imaging department in the country. The Radiology department at Valley Children’s continuously works to streamline processes using strong communication to build team work and improve standards to deliver the highest level of compassionate and positive care. The department uses approximately 24,200 square feet to meet the mission of both the hospital and that of Imaging Clinical Services and approximately 106 employees take part in working to achieve these missions.
The Radiology Technologist competently performs a variety of standard, specialty and complex diagnostic radiographic procedures with clinical and technical accuracy.
Position Details and Responsibilities:
Administer ionizing radiation using fluoroscopy, computed and direct radiography (including the use of mobile c-arm and x-ray equipment) to achieve good quality studies under a variety of conditions with little or no supervision
Apply the profession’s code of ethics in all aspects of practice
Maintain knowledge of, observe, and enforce the safety measures in Environment of Care
Demonstrates sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology and radiation physics and image production.
Demonstrates appropriate use of ALARA - minimal technique parameters, collimation and correctly positions patients.
Bachelor’s Degree; or, an Associate’s Degree in Radiology with validation of a High School Diploma/GED plus graduate of formal program in Radiologic Technology
State of California Radiologic Technologist licensure (CRT)
Certification in Radiography (RT-R) through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists-ARRT
A minimum of six (6) months experience in Diagnostic Radiology
Fluoroscopy permit (RHF) required within 6 months of hire
Basic Life Support
Pediatric experience preferred
Bilingual skills desirable
