MANAGER OF ENVIRONMENT OF CARE (HOSPITAL SAFETY OFFICER)

The manager of EOC will provide support to the Director of Facilities Management in all aspects of the physical plant, and all buildings that are under the scope of Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center. The manager of EOC manages proactively in their approach to organize and direct a comprehensive safety program to ensure the integrity of the physical plant and the safety of its occupants.The manager must possess the skills and abilities to proactively manage multiple assignments simultaneously.Responsibilities may include: Safety management of several departments such as Maintenance, Engineering, Bio-Medical Services, Grounds, Security, Safety, Construction and Hazardous Material / Waste Management and Emergency Management. The hours may vary to meet the needs of the facility at any time. This list is not all inclusive and may include any other duty as assigned. No Patient Health Information access required.
Assists in the development and implementation of all hospital safety policies and procedures; works with administration to implement programs relating to general safety, fire protection, emergency management, accident prevention, and accident investigation.
Minimum two to three (2-3) year hospital safety or quality experience in a healthcare setting or equivalent experience (i.e. certified inspector, CMS/Joint Commission or other Surveyor experience)
High school graduate or equivalent.
Knowledge of safety laws and regulations (Joint Commission, CMS Title 22/24, OSHA, SB 198, etc.) highly required.
Three to five years of progressive experience in supervision of staff, construction compliance with ICRA (Infection Control barriers), utilities, building and maintenance of equipment. Experience as oversight of vendor management / contracts. Three years’ verifiable experience with the oversight of all testing to meet the requirements of The Joint Commission (TJC).
Current California driver’s license; a copy of the renewed license will need to be submitted upon renewal. A Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) will be completed at the time of hire and on an annual basis thereafter.
