Job Title: Revenue Management Practice Consultant Intermediate

Serves as the Practice Consultant (“PC”) to assigned service lines / clinical areas for all Revenue Management related business. The PC acts as consultant and educator to physician leadership, administrative team and Operations staff for reimbursement, strategic growth initiatives, and compliance improvement initiatives.
The PC works with department Clinical Directors, Division VP, and Operations Directors/Managers to provide administrative leadership for the billing of assigned department(s). Provide strategic direction to facilitate maximization of clinical revenue and oversee the revenue cycle activities associated with assigned clinical areas.
The Intermediate PC works under general supervision of the Senior PC and assists in the education and mentoring of the Associate and Analyst staff. The Intermediate PC has the ability to self-manage on a day to day basis and to prioritize own projects and tasks with moderate guidance from the Senior PC.
The Intermediate PC provides training and process improvement efforts across the clinical departments for the development of consistent and comprehensive clinical practices supported by the Geisinger Health System. With thorough working knowledge of clinical practice management and through data analysis, identifies process improvement opportunities associated with the management of department-wide clinical information that affects the patient billing and collection processes throughout the Clinical Practice. Investigates current processes, assessing efficiency and accuracy and provides solutions for problems, process improvement, development of training programs, and documentation strategies that support ICD-10 complex terminology for clinical practice operations and management. Serves as a liaison between Clinical Operations and the Revenue Cycle staff, and facilitates communication between various constituents in order to optimize revenue cycle functions and maximize system-wide reimbursement.
Communicates and coordinates clinical departmental activities with Revenue Cycle Senior Management as it relates to performance improvement opportunities, system applications, unbilled revenue, organizational profitability, customer service issues, accounts receivable, and professional consulting activity.

Must be able to work effectively with all levels of clients’ staff.
Must be forward thinking, able to meet project deadlines, possess high level of energy and professional acumen, and be client- service oriented.

Must be willing to travel.
Education and or Experience:
Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Health Policy Administration, Business Administration, Health Information Technology, Nursing, Biology, Finance, Engineering, or related field required. Minimum of two years’related experience in progressive integrated delivery system required.
Bachelor's degree in Health Policy Administration, Business Administration, Health Information Technology, Nursing, Biology, Finance, Engineering, or related field required. Minimum of four years’related experience in progressive integrated delivery system required.
Coding certification preferred (such as AAPC CPC). AHIMA approved ICD-10 Trainer is preferred. RHIT preferred.
Experience in providing financial analysis of healthcare operations required.
Experience in an integrated delivery system with managed care physician practices required.
In lieu of degree, existing staff in the Practice Consultant Associate role may be considered with a minimum ten years of related experience
If a suitably experienced candidate cannot be found, applicants who meet the basic qualifications but possess fewer years of experience will be considered for hire at a lower level.Salary would commensurate with experience.
