The Manager, Radiation Oncology administers all aspects of the fiscal, physical, and talent management functions of the Radiation Oncology Department including assisting with capital planning, capacity planning, and disaster recovery planning. Responsible for revenue cycle components in area of responsibility to include accurate patient registration, insurance verification, insurance pre-authorization, charge capture, and reconciliation.
Remains updated on CPT code changes and other topics related to billing compliance and initiates any changes. Responsible for integration of the department into the organization’s primary function, including communication with all appropriate parties necessary to the function and service of Radiation Oncology, Oncology Service Line.
Assures departmental compliance with requirements of regulatory and accrediting bodies such as the State Department of Health, OSHA, JC, FDA, ACR, etc. Works with Oncology Service Line leadership to achieve departmental and system level goals.
Education Completion of accredited Radiation Therapy program required
Experience Five years radiation therapy experience required Prior experience in managing a multidisciplinary radiation oncology program required Five years direct or commensurate leadership responsibility preferred
Certification & Licensures Registered Technologist in Radiation Therapy RT (T) ARRT in State of Virginia required BLS Certification American Heart Association ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) approved required
