Oversees residents’ and fellows’ (hereafter described as residents) credentialing and verification processes by providing oversight of the credentialing activities, resident record maintenance, credentials verification, licensing compliance, documentation and reporting activities. Ensures coordinators and other staff members are educated to adhere to all accreditation and compliance standards. Assesses the effectiveness of the resident data management and database systems and processes to meet all applicable regulatory standards, audit processes and quality improvement activities and to ensure resident and medical staff satisfaction in credentialing and record maintenance. Maintain responsibility for accreditation, licensing requirements of the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine/Osteopathic, Pennsylvania or other relevant State Boards of Dentistry and PA State Board of Podiatry, immigration service, drug enforcement agency, CMS, other regulatory and organizational compliance as it relates to resident competency, licensing, visa and credentialing. Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of Geisinger Health System’s Academic Affairs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in education/business/healthcare administration or related field required. Minimum of two years’ experience medical education or hospital credentialing or resident data management systems is required. Previous experience in a clinical setting and/or with direct physician interaction helpful.
Certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services as a Certified Provider Credentials Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Medical Staff Coordinator required. Minimum of two years credentialing experience in medical education or hospital credentialing required. Previous experience in a clinical setting and/or with direct physician interaction helpful.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is typically performed in an office environment. Must be able to independently
travel, including overnight travel. Occasional evening and weekend hours required. Must maintain a professional appearance in accordance with established department standards.
