The laboratory technologist, under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, performs various clinical laboratory tests in one or more sections of the Laboratory Department in order to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Analyzes and interprets test results, and ensures accuracy of same. Repeat tests as necessary, especially those yielding abnormal or atypical results, and notifies appropriate personnel of such results.
Minimum of 3-5 years clinical lab experience in blood bank, hematology, chemistry, coagulation, phlebotomy and central processing included. Must have excellent interpersonal skills. Must be detail-oriented and able to work in a potentially high stressed environment. Must have excellent computer skills. Must be able to work at least one day a pay period and one weekend day per month, must be available on some holidays.
