Role Description The Training Manager is primarily responsible for the overall coordination and management of training activities and trainers on the Epic implementation. The Training Manager is responsible for defining the training programs goals, objectives, approach, and communicating training policies and procedures across the organization. The Training Manager is responsible for maintaining and coordinating the super user and credentialed trainer program to ensure complete coverage prior to implementation, during go-live, and through post go-live support. The Training Manager is also responsible for communicating with project leadership to ensure alignment with overall project timeline and needs. Essential Functions: The Training Manager is primarily responsible for coordinating and managing the overall training program for the Epic implementation. In addition to the duties discussed in the Role Description, the Training Manager is responsible for the following:
1) Manage Curriculum Design and Deployment: Managing and coordinating overall Training program including definition of goals, objectives, approach, and training modalities used Developing the training program s overall curriculum approach, standards, policies, and procedures Managing development and standardization of training templates and tracking mechanisms for training materials Managing the review process of Epic s Training Wheels to gain understanding of the Lesson Plan Matrix development and creation of individual lesson plans by topic for each application/end-user workflow Identifying gaps in Training Wheels content or availability and what is required for RWJBH workflows/functionality Managing Principal Trainers in all curriculum development tasks including the selection of e-learning modules, the development of classroom and e-learning content Overseeing the design and development of end-user competency exams Managing development of the Training Course Catalog to support identification of end-users by role Developing post-live training for new hires, refresher training, optimization, and upgrades Facilitating the onboarding and training of the Training Team including Epic certification, identifying job shadowing opportunities, providing access to cross-walk documents and third party product information Tracking course enrollment and certification progress across the of the various implementation teams.
2) Training Coordination and Logistics: Developing the overall program training calculator - Identifying all end-users who will require training by role and the number of users in each role Identifying & arranging all training related resource needs including documentation tools, training room supplies, training room computer and audio visual equipment, instructional material publication, classroom support, Working with leadership and facilities to identify space and manage the build out of the training rooms Developing training registration and tracking process Collaborating with LMS Administrator on requirements Managing and overseeing Training Administrators responsible for handling classroom registration and providing general training support Managing and overseeing Principal Trainers responsible for coordinating in-classroom and e-learning trainings Managing the preparation and completion of the Epic training environment build Managing the credentialing program for credentialed trainers, both internal and external. Developing and coordinating the super user training program Developing and coordinating the end-user training schedule
3) Project Management: Providing feedback and coaching to Principal Trainers to ensure a consistent, quality training experience Facilitating the recruiting, credentialing process, and staffing schedule for Credentialed Trainers Tracking progress of overall training curriculum development and deployment Communicating progress of training curriculum development and deployment to Steering Committee and Executive Committee Supporting the development of a process to distribute Epic User IDs based on competency exam results Collaborating with project leads to ensure that training environment is consistent and stable with project needs Understanding CME requirements/ACPE and working with Nursing education, Medical staff offices to enable students to obtain credit, as applicable Managing Training Analysts to complete necessary tasks according to implementation strategy and timeline Providing go-live support for users on new applications, including functionality Providing on-call support for application through go-live and post go-live Qualifications Education Preferred: Master s degree in information technology, health care management and/or adult education or equivalent years of relevant work experience Minimum: Bachelor s degree in information technology, health care management and/or adult education with three (3) or more years of relevant work experience Work Experience: Preferred: Five (5) years relevant experience in instructional design within a health care setting and/or in adult education Minimum: Three (3) year relevant experience in instructional design within a health care setting and/or in adult education Licenses and Certifications: Minimum: Obtaining applicable certification will be an expectation of the role Applicant is expected to maintain certification as current by completing New Version Training (NVT), as applicable
