This position will be directly involved in the core financial planning and reporting processes in support of the assigned service lines. Primary duties consist of detailed support of the annual budget process, capital budgeting,
long-range financial model (LRFM), performance improvement and strategic planning. The position will also be responsible for coordinating routine statistical and financial reporting to satisfy the needs of the service lines
Duties also include use of decision support (DSS) for developing program profitability analysis, lease approvals, revenue cycle group participation, flex budgeting/cost accounting and physician growth proformas. The
position will be required to respond to ad hoc reporting and analysis requests that may arise.
Works under the direct supervision of the Financial Manager for assigned Service Line(s).
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Demonstrates strong PC skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access; Mainframe applications, IDX, Siemans, Allscripts, Lawson, Document Direct online viewing and other clinical systems.
Demonstrates strong analytical, organizational and communication skills with ability to work in a team environment.
Demonstrates working knowledge of financial applications and the ability to train management and physicians to access and utilize this information.
Demonstrates ability to communicate clearly and concisely with senior leadership and physicians.
Demonstrates skills in multi-tasking and prioritizing information. Must be deadline oriented and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Demonstrates ability to develop all types of financial information for analysis, review, interpretation and presentation.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, accounting or related business field required. Minimum of five years of accounting, auditing, or relevant financial experience required.
Master’s degree finance, business administration, accounting or related business field required. Minimum of three years of accounting, auditing, or relevant financial experience required.
Work experience in healthcare preferred.
Experiene in an integrated delivery system with managed care physician practices preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is typically performed in an office environment. Position may involve driving, as required, based on organizational structure.
