DEPARTMENT: Laboratory Medicine - Customer Support
WORK SCHEDULE: Nights
WORK TYPE: Part Time
Responsible for problem solving and communication with internal and external customers in order to provide prompt, accurate, friendly and quality service. Utilizes appropriate computer systems to document calls, dispatch couriers, register patients, facilitate billing, accession laboratory specimens, and provide information to all customers. Performs all Contact Center functions.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Demonstrated ability to read, write, and perform simple mathematical calculations.
Ability to comprehend data management systems and perform tasks specific to a variety of these systems.
Ability to behave in a professional, personable, sensitive manner with customers and Healthcare professionals.
Must demonstrate the ability to function within a stressful environment.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well with the public. Well-developed telephone and computer skills are desired.
Working knowledge of medical terminology and word processing preferred.
Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
Demonstrated the ability to multi-task using a variety of PC based resources.
Demonstrated the ability to work independently and have strong problem solving and investigative skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of one year related experience in client services environment required.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Requires heavy use of telephone/communication equipment and sitting for long periods.
