| JOB TITLE: Security Officer I LOCATION: Geisinger Medical Center Hospital DEPARTMENT: Security WORK SCHEDULE: Nights WORK TYPE: Part Time JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for maintaining safety and security for an assigned area. Maintains safety and security of patients, visitors, and employees; conducts routine patrols of assigned areas to keep property and persons free from risk; meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range on their assigned area. Directly accountable to the Supervisor Security and/or Manager, Security Services. COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: Demonstrates competence in written, oral and electronic communication skills Demonstrates knowledge of first aid, CPR/AED, and modern fire-fighting techniques preferred. Knowledge of materials used in the manufacturing process and of safe practices for physical management of raw and/or hazardous materials. Knowledge of and ability to implement the measures necessary to safeguard an organization's employees and visitors. Demonstrated ability to perform hazardous material incident response services. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Preferred Experience: Minimum of 1 year Related work experience Required Education: High School Diploma or GED Preferred Education: Required Certifications or Licensures: PA Drivers License WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Responds to emergencies, fire alarms, hazardous material incidents. Deals with conflict, confrontation, and stressful situations on a routine basis. Performs both foot patrol and vehicle patrol of facilities and grounds.
