Performs basic and advanced laboratory procedures associated with the prepara?on of specimens for the anatomical study of their microscopic structure in support of the hospital's mission of patient care. The Histotechnologist works independently in consults on and under guidance of the Technical Specialist, the Manager, and the Pathologists. The Histotechnologist is the resource person for other personnel in the laboratory area and may function as the technologist in charge as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. BA or BS in Histotechnology or related/appropriate field. 2. For qualified personnel without HTL certification, applicant must successfully challenge the HTL registry within 12 months of hire. 3. Applicant is expected to have QIHC (Qualification on in Immunohistochemistry) specialty or must successfully challenge the QIHC specialty within 18 months of acquiring the HTL cer?fica?on 4. Licensed in the State of WV as a Laboratory Technician required within 90 days of employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. Certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP) as a Histotechnologist HTL, upon hire. 2. Licensed in the State of WV as a Laboratory Technician within 30 days of employment EXPERIENCE: 1. Histology experience preferred.
