General Duties: Manage the department in an efficient and cost effective manner. Assure appropriate procedures are followed in order to provide high quality patient care in conjunction with other departments, all within the constraints and direction of CCC Administration, Radiologist and local, state and federal regulatory agencies. Work directly with State surveyors, licensing agencies and the American College of Radiologists for all accreditations, surveys and licenses for the department.
Department Specific Duties: Direct technical and operational aspects of the department including services, programs and staffing, including hiring, training, performance evaluation and disciplining personnel. Establish and manage work schedules, establish priorities, policies and procedures Ensure new staff are trained Provide leadership in planning annual and long term goals and lead staff to accomplish to meet goals and objectives. Provide updates to administration and medical director. Lead in identifying and demonstrating knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care and assist when necessary; exercise independent judgement and decision making as needed. Direct and coordinate quality control and quality assurance testing/program and documentation. Assist radiation safety officer to ensure proper radiation safety procedures are being followed. Establish, prepare and maintain Departmental records and reports as required. Provide a collaborative, positive approach in interacting with patients, visitors, staff and the public. Provide leadership and direction in accordance with organizational and departmental goals. Promote interdepartmental relationships or quality and continuity of care. Provide leadership and vision in the planning for new services and make recommendations for equipment, facilities, and personnel required. Assist in the development of the annual budget. Provide leadership and independent decision making in cost control, and in coordination. Initiates the purchasing of department equipment within the requirements of company policy. Participates in the planning of the annual Breast Awareness Marketing Campaign with Administration, Marketing and Physicians. Leads Department and ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and rules of accrediting agencies by consistently monitoring the operations, programs, services and physical properties of the department, and implements corrective actions as required. Provide for professional growth and development of staff, through identification of needs, leading in-house training programs, encouraging educational efforts and evaluation of same. Leads in recruitment, interview and selection of staff for department.
Required: ï¿½ Complies with regulatory requirements (i.e. TJC) appropriate for position. ï¿½ Current CRT, ARRT certification, Mammography license ï¿½ 5 years or more of supervisory skills preferably in a hospital setting ï¿½ Ultrasound, Routine Diagnostic and Mammography, CT experience 5 years or more with each modality ï¿½ Proficient with local, state and federal requirements (TJC) pertaining to Radiology ï¿½ Proficient with MQSA and all State regulations ï¿½ Good to excellent communication skills
