JOB SUMMARY: The IRF PAI Coordinator assumes the task to complete each IRF-PAI form completely, accurately, and timely. Maintain a high level of professional expertise and serve as a resource to the Rehabilitation unit and to Tennova Lebanon.
Monitor and input appropriate information for the IRF-PAI into the appropriate computer program.
Collect patient information from the patient medical record.
Set prescribed IRF-PAI completion dates for the multidisciplinary team.
Analyze FIM scoring to make certain that FIK scoring is accurate; question appropriately any FIM discrepancies.
Analyze medical record coding to make certain that it is accurate. Question appropriately any coding discrepancies.
Review each IRF-PAI in total for accuracy before inputting and finalizing.
Interact appropriately with the Program Director when unable to resolve and data or timeliness issues related to the IRF-PAI.
Transmit data to the IRF database in a timely manner and consistent with the CMS regulations.
Coordinate IRF-PAI process with the various hospital departments to ensure timely billing and that there is appropriate retention of the IRF-PAI.
Submit CMG's to the billing office to ensure accurate billing, as needed.
Print the IRF-PAI in a timely manner and send it to medical records.
Ensure that the IRF-PAI is entered into the appropriate medical record in the cooperation with medical records personnel.
Will assist as required by the Program Director with inputting other patient data into the appropriate computer program.
Attend any hospital committee meetings as assigned by the Program Director.
Act as a resource person to the Rehabilitation unit and the hospital.
Attend Rehabilitation program meetings and in-service at the level agreed to by management.
Pursue continuing education to expand clinical competency, Rehab, and FIM competency.
Demonstrate and promote positive relations with all staff and co-workers in a friendly manner.
Assist in coordinating and documenting the Rehabilitation team patient conference.
Assist in the assessment of patients referred for Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation services by gathering pertinent information, communicating with the Medical Director; initiating the admission process when appropriate and communication with all interested parties.
Provide instruction/training on FIM Scoring for Rehab staff and other hospital employees when necessary.
Coordinate FIM competency testing for designated Rehab staff.
