Lakeview Health is looking for an experienced Lab Tech to join our team on a Part-Time basis. The Lab Tech will be responsible for providing testing data from routine tests in the medical laboratory for the use of physicians and nurses. This position will schedule and perform assigned tests on specimens in accordance with standard operating procedures. The Lab Tech receives specimens and analyzes body fluids such as blood and urine samples to determine normal or abnormal findings. Findings of laboratory tests and procedures are reported and discussed with physicians, nurses, and/or other personnel as necessary.
Requirements: •2-Year Associates Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related science discipline is strongly preferred. Other appropriate technical qualifications will be considered. • At least 3 years of experience in a laboratory environment with a solid understanding of lab practices. • Familiarity in chemistry, toxicology, hematology, urinalysis, and coagulation is ideal. • A proven track record of accurate and detailed assessments with the ability to use standard lab equipment and perform standardized and routine assignments.
Phlebotomy experience required
The following National licenses are acceptable:
•Must have Florida State Medical Laboratory Technician license
