The Information Technology Manager is responsible for the implementation, operations, and supervision of IT specific systems and staff. The Manager stays abreast of trends in information technology and uses this knowledge to assist in formulating strategy around technology use. The Manager is responsible for managing IT Projects, including assigning and coordinating the installation, modifications, upgrades, and repairs of technology hardware and software systems across the enterprise. The Manager supervises the technical assistance and user training needed to keep systems functional and efficiently used. Ensures department activities and outcomes are aligned with the strategic plan and the organization's mission, vision, and values.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises employees in Hospital Information Technology Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; monitoring and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Responsible for the planning, organizing and delineating responsibility for the completion of information technology (IT) goals
Fosters a high-performing customer service culture and drives employee engagement
Maintains organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
Completes information technology projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments.
Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe and secure work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
Makes recommendations on technology-related goals, objectives, standards, and policies
Participates in space utilization/consolidation studies and analysis; develops recommended plans to maximize operational efficiency and effectiveness
Stays up-to-date regarding advances in healthcare software and technology
Stays abreast of cyber security trends, assesses risks, and gains knowledge of methods to reduce and mitigate these risks.
Monitors Hospital District systems for vulnerabilities and signs of compromise. Takes proactive actions to reduce vulnerabilities through monitoring, patching, staff education and other methods deemed necessary.
Actively collaborate with other departments to identify areas where technology or technology initiatives can improve department performance, efficiency, and patient safety
Assures that all technology-related equipment is in working order; maintains a systematic approach to checking and documenting all equipment and systems
Responsible for software and hardware recommendations; upgrades network, hardware and software components as required
Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective action.
Oversees and/or Performs network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems
Installs, upgrades and configures network printing, directory structures, rights, security and software on file servers
Coordinates, or performs, loading of specified software packages such as operating systems, word processing and spreadsheet programs into computer. Replaces or upgrades defective or inadequate software
Designs logical and physical databases or reviews description of changes to database design to understand impacts of changes made (how data is stored in terms of physical characteristics such as location, amount of space and access method)
Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements
Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards. Utilizes improvement initiatives as needed to increase department performance.

Education and/or Experience:
Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)/Network Engineer Certification preferred
Bachelor's degree in related field required.
Two years' experience in IT Project Management (ITPM) required
Minimum 4 year of leadership in an Information Technology field required; manager or equivalent level strongly preferred
Experience in hospital or healthcare setting strongly preferred
