Make Improvements in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Diseases as a Medical Lab Scientist II, Pathology
As a Medical Lab Scientist II, you will be responsible for performing routine and specialized laboratory tests and other procedures for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Responsibilities include:
Utilizing requisite equipment, instruments, and computer systems.
Evaluating and reporting patient results using considerable independent judgment within the scope of established testing methods.
Updating knowledge, skills and applying appropriately.
Maintaining age-specific and other required competencies.
Performing quality control procedures and contributing to the maintenance of the laboratory, equipment, and supplies.
Assisting in the development and implementation of new procedures, instrumentation, etc.
May assume responsibility for one or more laboratory projects or functions such as safety, quality control, regulatory, administrative, staff development, computer systems.
Training new employees and/or students in the theoretical and operational aspects of procedures and evaluating their work.
Acting as a resource for less experienced coworkers.
Working both independently and as part of a team with general supervision/periodic review by supervisory staff.

Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology Preferred
2 Years of Clinical Laboratory Experience – Moderate and High Complexity Testing Preferred
American Society for Clinical Pathology Certification Required
National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel Certification Required
Or Equivalent Education Requirement
