Ludwick Eye Center is recruiting for our next Director of Operations who has the potential to lead the organization within two years as the Practice Administrator. The Director of Operations will develop the strategic objectives for the business with our executive team and contribute to the development of the annual budget. The Director will have five direct reports and a team of 35 employees across the clinical support, clinical training, clinic scheduling, surgery scheduling, and IT departments.

Improving performance of the clinical support team
Increasing productivity of Surgery Counselors
Driving the percent of filled timeslots in the surgery schedule
Advancing the established culture of the practice
Ludwick Eye Center was founded in 1997 and is the leading ophthalmology practice in the South Central Pennsylvania and Northern Maryland region. We specialize in higher level medical and surgical care of ocular disease. Our practice is home to three surgeons, six optometrists, and two physician assistants. Collaborate with President in creation of the annual strategic objective for the business
Analyze reports and create solutions needed to improve in patient satisfaction and cost savings
Develop and monitor annual budget and goal standards for the division
Hire, mentor, manage, and evaluate all direct reports
Manage the staffing ratio to patient volume to ensure appropriate level of staffing according to patient demand
Evaluate and manage scheduling templates to optimize use of each doctor's time
Ensure patient satisfaction is being met by utilizing patient feedback and suggestions towards improved processes
Manage overall departments’ processes and create feedback loops to ensure growth and profitability of the company
Determine need and manage development and implementation of working processes to obtain corporate goals within respected departments
Analyze time tracking tools to measure efficiency and reflect reporting capability of patient flow
Aide in maintaining successful relationship with referring doctors
Identify need, perform cost analysis/ROI, and negotiate purchases of clinical equipment
Identify need, perform cost analysis/ROI, and negotiate purchases of managerial tools in aiding the practice's success
Analyze department measures for productivity and quality standards
Monitor and make appropriate changes to the surgical template to ensure operating at full capacity for maximum profitability
Ludwick Eye Center is a member of the OOMC family of ophthalmic practices.
Bachelor’s degree. Master’s preferred.
Healthcare leadership experience managing at least two departments (e.g. clinical, scheduling, front desk, billing, surgery, etc.)
Experience developing supervisors preferred.
Strong analytical skills for driving process improvement. LEAN, six sigma, and similar methodologies preferred.
