You Will Be Responsible For:
Assists with rooming patients for appointments, obtains accurate temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height and weight, and documents accurately in the practiceâ™s designated system.
Ensures all test results and correspondence are available in practiceâ™s designated system for the providerâ™s review at the time of patient visit or as otherwise necessary.
Ensures efficient office flow by preparing patient and equipment for the needed treatment and initiates testing and documents results into the practiceâ™s designated system when appropriate.
Ensures lab and other diagnostic tests are collected and accurately identifies the appropriate lab for each patient.
Exhibits effective and efficient communication skills, including the ability to present complex information with confidence in order to support a positive work environment and optimal operational workflow.
Maintains tickler file for referrals and laboratory and diagnostic testing by reviewing on a daily basis and identifying and acting upon any unresolved entries and then documenting appropriately.
What You Will Need:
Must be currently certified and maintain certification by one of the following:
American Association of Medical Assistants (âœAAMAâ) for Certified Medical Assistants
American Medical Certification Association (âœAMCAâ) for Clinical Medical Assistant Certification
American Medical Technologists (âœAMTâ) for Registered Medical Assistant
National Association for Health Professionals (âœNAHPâ) for Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant
National Center for Competency Testing (âœNCCTâ) for National Certified Medical Assistant
National Healthcareer Association (âœNHAâ) for Registered Clinical Medical Assistant
Current, valid CPR certification is required.
High school graduate or equivalent required.
Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program preferred.
1 year medical office experience preferred.
The Medical Assistant provides appropriate care to patients within the scope of the Medical Practice Act. This individual obtains clinical, financial and demographic patient data and assists in patient education. Also responsible for assisting providers during the treatment and examination of patients and administers procedures and treatments as ordered by the provider. Performs front office duties as needed and assigned.
