Full-Time Faculty - Clinical Laboratory Science will provide academic instruction in area of expertise and work closely with faculty of the Clinical Laboratory Science and Phlebotomy certificate programs. They will provide academic and clinical instruction for students in the Clinical Laboratory Science and/or Phlebotomy certificate programs, to include but not limited to lecture, laboratory, and clinical laboratory science courses. They will teach a full-time (15 credit hours per semester) schedule of Clinical Laboratory Science and/or Phlebotomy courses, which may include, but are not limited to the list found online in the Academic Catalog. Courses may be held in the classroom at our Fall River, New Bedford, Attleboro, and Taunton locations and/or in the online environment as assigned.
Minimum of a Master's degree.
Current generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Technologist or International Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCPi-BOC).
Professional experience as a medical laboratory professional.
Minimum of two years of teaching experience.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications and online teaching.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong experience in curricular planning and assessment, as well as demonstrated use of High Impact Practices, technologies, and inclusive pedagogy to enhance student learning.
The ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff.
Must submit to a background check (including a CORI/SORI) and drug screening as a condition of employment.
Doctorate in related field preferred.
Degree in medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory science, or education.
Minimum of three years of experience working as a generalist in a medical laboratory.
College level teaching experience, preferably in medical/clinical laboratory science.
Experience in community college teaching, advising, and curriculum development.
Demonstrated knowledge of current National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS) accreditation and regulation policies and guidelines.
Demonstrated knowledge of Medical/Clinical Laboratory Science governance and regulatory policies and guidelines.
Knowledge of certification procedures.
Demonstrated versatility in teaching a range of courses offered in the Medical/Clinical Laboratory Science and Phlebotomy program.
Demonstrated proficiency with Blackboard, Banner, Argos, and/or DegreeWorks.
Demonstrated experience working on committees and within teams.
Ability to speak a language in addition to English.
