Position Summary The Senior Manager of Education is responsible for building and deploying a new educational approach that can be successful in both a COVID-19 and post-COVID-19 environment. A successful approach is one that showcases CHA expertise, demonstrates value to CHA members and fosters effective adult learning through a variety of modalities. The Senior Manager of Education leads the design, planning, development and execution of a variety of strategically focused educational programs for CHA members. Educational programs should feature CHA expertise on topics of value to its membership; such programs can include data analytics, patient safety and quality improvement, emergency preparedness, regulatory requirements and financial performance. In addition to creating a vision that ensures the Association’s educational programming anticipates and considers the future knowledge and skills required by CHA members and is financially sustainable this individual will cultivate effective and successful professional working relationships with all CHA departments in order to provide counsel and guidance about the form, timing, content and design of CHA education programs. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: - Responsible for leading the planning, developing and executing educational programs designed for CHA members
- Oversees and leads the team in the production of annual education/member events and, potentially, conferences
- Stays well-informed of current issues and developments affecting hospitals and health care, and proactively identifies educational opportunities
- Develops innovative, strategic educational opportunities that maximize participation and effectiveness of education materials for CHA members
- Consults with CHA departments in the planning of education material utilizing evidence-based adult learning practices
- Works collaboratively with other CHA departments to develop programs with learning objectives that contribute to the Association’s strategic direction
- Works with education staff to evaluate proposed educational programs developed by others for inclusion in CHA educational offerings
- Determines the most effective and efficient means for delivering education programs to ensure maximum participation and financial success
- Leads the team to ensure educational programs are executed with the highest level of professionalism and efficiency
- May include securing faculty and venues for educational programs, including the negotiation of related contracts
- Actively collaborates, as appropriate, with the American Hospital Association, state hospital associations in the region and nationally and other health care, academic and business organizations for which there is a common interest and/or audience
- Manages the education team and process to create innovative package of benefits that successfully cultivates sponsorships to help support educational programs
- Work with SVP to develop an annual budget for, and ensuring the financial success and long-term financial viability of the Association’s educational programming
- Manages education team staff to ensure creation of association member benefits and sales meets the organization budget.
- Maintains relationship with American Hospital Association with regards membership coordination
- Leverages the latest technology to improve and enhance the overall experience of those attending CHA educational events
- Oversees the development of survey and research methods to query stakeholders and target audiences to accurately evaluate the value of educational programs and guide the development of future educational events
Supervisory: - Supervises Education Manager and Senior Education Coordinator
Knowledge, Skills and Experience required (unless otherwise noted): - Bachelor’s Degree in health care, business administration or related education field (advanced degree is desirable)
- Minimum of five years’ experience in health care or related area
- Current knowledge of the unique issues facing hospitals and the broader spectrum of health care delivery and payment systems
- Experience in leading the development and execution of educational programming and project management
- Experience and knowledge in leading the creation of effective education/learning for adult learners
- Exceptional written and oral communication
- Supervisory experience desired
- Experience in managing departmental budgets
- Professional and diplomatic demeanor

Hiring salary range: $85,000 – $95,000 annually, benefits eligible The hiring salary range represents a targeted hiring range based on candidate’s experience, education, and/or skill level. The actual starting salary may be more or less depending on individual qualifications and does not represent the full salary range.
