Children’s Hospital of Richmond, VCU Health in Richmond, Virginia is partnering exclusively with Cejka Search to conduct a national recruitment for an accomplished health care executive to serve as Director, Strategy and Business Development.
This is an exciting time to join VCU Health and serve in a critical leadership role to support the vision to be recognized as one of the top 20 children’s hospitals in the country by 2022. VCU Health is in the midst of building an 86-bed, $350 million free-standing children’s hospital adjacent to its outpatient Children’s Pavilion in downtown Richmond. This new world-class facility will match the caliber of care happening within its four walls.
The newly created position as Director, Strategy and Business Development will work closely with Children’s Hospital of Richmond (CHoR) CEO and the Vice President, Strategy & Business Development for VCU Health system to continuously identify and develop new business relationships and opportunities for CHoR, foster growth and achieve the strategies goals of CHoR and the clinical enterprise. The Director, Strategy and Business Development is charged with developing and coordinating strategic and business plans for the evaluation of new and existing services/markets across the Women’s and Children’s service lines. Working with leaders across the organization, the Director will utilize market data, business and financial analytics and market/industry trends to identify, develop and present short-and long-term business strategies to further advance CHoR’s business objectives and meet the needs of patients and families.
VCU Health system is a $3.3 billion operating revenue integrated health system, which includes Medical College of Virginia (MCV) Physicians (a 700-member faculty practice plan) and VCU Medical Center, which is a 1,125-bed, regional referral center and the region’s first Level I trauma center for adults and children. CHoR, a Magnet Recognition Program® and level 1 pediatric trauma center, is Central Virginia's only comprehensive, full-service hospital dedicated to the care of children and is ranked among the nation's top children's hospitals by U.S. News and World.
Ideal candidates will have at least five years of demonstrated success in strategic planning and healthcare strategy and development within an academic health care system and/or children’s hospital. A broad thinker with a data-driven approach and the demonstrated ability to successfully evaluate opportunities, design and effectively deploy initiatives that achieve desired results is required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to navigate a complex healthcare setting are essential. A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
