Christiana Care Health System is seeking a Nurse Manager to work at our Wilmington Hospital in the Perioperative Services Units. Primary function: Leads all aspects of the operations of Perioperative Services on the Wilmington campus and assumes 24-hour accountability and responsibility for excellence in the clinical and operational practice of nursing and the delivery of patient care within ANCC Magnet(r) designated departments of the Operating Room, Post Anesthesia Care Unit and Surgical Admissions within ChristianaCare. Principal duties and responsibilities: Demonstrates knowledge and skills vital to deliver care to perioperative patients, including knowledge of growth and development, the ability to obtain and interpret information to identify patient needs. Directs and supports the Assistant Nurse Managers, Specialty Coordinators and Staff Development Specialists for the Operating Room, PACU/P&H and Surgical Admissions. Collaborates with Medical Director(s) of Perioperative Services in the oversight of and management of the operating rooms and support spaces. Leads the fiscal and budgetary demands placed on the service by addressing staffing, workforce planning, procedure location, patient flow, patient access and all other issues that impact the ability of the service to perform in a fiscally responsible manner. Assures compliance with regulatory and professional standards. Identifies priorities of leadership responsibilities and demonstrates the ability to delegate. Enables a relationship-based care approach to care delivery within perioperative service. Performs routine leader rounds on patients and caregivers within perioperative service to establish visibility, teamwork, and monitoring of practice. Remains cognizant of risk management issues and takes appropriate measures to address. Supports and communicates department and unit-based quality and safety initiatives. Manages nursing practice and care delivery in all perioperative units. Promotes the autonomy of the nursing staff, encouraging independent decision making and decision-making. Supports and facilitates a culture of nursing professional governance in all perioperative units. Performs other related duties as required. Education and experience requirements:
