Job Summary:
This Technical Support Specialist (TSS) will be positioned within the Medical Devices and Products team who supports VUMC end-users' and clinicians' health care equipment and systems to ensure they are in proper working order. The Technical Support Specialist (TSS) role is responsible for, but not limited to:
Job responsibilities:
- Assisting with day-to-day technical, logistical, and administrative tasks.
- Serving as a liaison to VUMC's third-party Biomedical vendor and IT advisor for VUMC end-users on main campus and off-campus healthcare facilities, requiring travel.
- Providing remote and onsite technical support to customers in maintenance and support of electronic technologies, networks, and software applications with minimal guidance.
- Troubleshooting, occasionally installing, verifying connectivity, and inventorying VUMC Enterprise's vast amount of biomedical equipment (including, but not limited to NON-biomed equipment for the Perioperative sector) .
- Attending meetings remotely and in-person throughout VUMC facilities to help drive biomed-related projects from a HealthIT perspective.
- Other duties as assigned.
Technical Capabilities:
- Intermediate level of general IT knowledge with a focus on infrastructure protocols, network topologies, configuration and systems integration are recommended.
- Competent in Office 365 (Teams, Planner, Sharepoint), Zoom, Box and familiarity of the Windows platform.
- Experience with Planview and EPIC is preferred.
- Excellent documentation skills, including the ability to navigate support tickets and submit requests
