The Hemodialysis Medical Instrument Technician at this level has a minimum of one-year experience at the next lower grade level and is assigned to the Dialysis unit. The incumbent is organizationally responsible to Nursing Service. The hemodialysis (HD) medical instrument technician (MIT) is a specialized position in which direct patient care is performed where the incumbent understands the principles of dialysis, operates and monitors dialysis systems for chronic and acute patients.
