The Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (DRT), Computed Tomography Technologist, Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist employee at this level is fully functional as a DRT and is able to carry out the assigned tasks independently. Incumbent shares assignments, performing CT 33% of the time, MRI 33% of the time and Diagnostic Radiology Imaging 33% of the time. Incumbent rotates through each modality with other technologists. These include but are not limited to the following: Technologist meets the requirements set forth in Sheridan VA Healthcare System MCM No. 11-24 Emergency Medical Care. BLS Certification is maintained on an annual basis and is in compliance at all times. Accurately operates a wide variety of imaging equipment to obtain examinations of acceptable quality, utilizing the least amount of radiation to obtain quality imaging for Protocol evaluation to ensure providers are ordering the correct exam for the indication. Performs all aspects of CT imaging to include: Head, Neck, Chest, Abdomen, Pelvis, Extremities, 3D Reconstructions of CT, Multi-Planar Reformats CT and Angiographic studies when requested and/or when part of a standard procedure. Help to develop and maintain current and new protocols on imaging in the Department. Performs technical operation and general technical maintenance of the computer, disk drives, calibration and troubleshooting of malfunctions in the equipment used, notifies the MRI Supervisor.
