Ultrasound Tech Per Diem Rotate

Summary

Under minimal supervision, the Ultrasound Tech performs basic diagnostic ultrasound procedures, as requested by a licensed physician.
The Ultrasound Tech exercises professional judgment in providing health care services, to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups from newborn to elderly.
May be multi-credentialed in the area of sonography.
The Ultrasound Tech Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period.
Other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• The Ultrasound Tech produces high quality diagnostic sonographs as prescribed by a licensed practitioner

• The Ultrasound Tech assists with amnio procedure biopsies

• Processes and files films as needed

Education

Required: Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Sonography
Preferred: Associates degree

Experience

Preferred: 2-5 years in Diagnostic Sonography

Certifications

Required: Possession of a current registry with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Sonography(ARRT).BLS-Obtained through approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network.
