POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Performs Neurological procedures (EEG, ABR, PSG, VER, SER) studies on patients of all ages. Performs, with assistance, complex EEG, NCV, EP, and MSLT studies. Reviews charts and/or interviews patients for relevant medical history; determines activation or recording methods based on clinical symptoms and Department policies; consults with technologists to evaluate appropriateness of sedation; formulates technical descriptive impressions. Cleans and maintains technical equipment. Performs clerical and reception duties; assists with general department activities; participates in weekend and holiday on-call. The Neuro-physiology Technician position incorporates those responsibilities, requiring a thorough background knowledge with a high degree of clinical experience. Organizes and completes work in a timely manner, adjusting for changing priorities as needed. Uses effective verbal and written skills to communicate with people on all levels. Maintains positive working relationships with patients, families, coworkers (inter-and-intra-departmental), and physicians. Actively listens and uses teaching skills in assessing patient status, providing patient care, and educating patients and families. Demonstrates compassion and nonjudgmental behavior during patient interactions. Adjusts work hours to complete daily activities and provide after hours coverage.

Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:1. Graduate of EEG or neuro-diagnostic education program or 5 years experience in neuro-diagnostics. 2. Current CPR. 3. Basic Computer Skills.
