This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT in support of COVID-19 operations. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be April 19, 2021 and applicants will be referred on an 'as needed' basis. NOTE: Announcement will remain open until no longer needed but no later than June 30, 2021. The Health Technician will be assigned to interested facilities throughout VHA in support of COVID-19 operations and may be appointed on a temporary basis. Major duties include, but are not limited to: Developing and maintaining a therapeutic, professional helping relationship with clients; Providing orientation to new patients by explaining policies and procedures, treatment expectations and goals, and ensures that all admission requirements are met; Working with a variety of physical, mental, emotional, and behavior problems using different techniques; Processing and evaluating any incident involving the injury or abuse of any patient; Receiving and directing patients and visitors and responding to routine inquiries; Handling appointment requests and appointment changes/cancellations; Performing initial physical examination of patients upon arrival to clinic, to include checking vital signs, pulmonary functions and reason for visit; Filing all medical record information and correspondence in patient records. Work Schedule: A variety of work schedules are available; Work schedule will be determined upon selection. NOTE: May be expected to work rotating weekends and holidays.
