Summary Advanced level surgical scrub role for certified/non-certified trained operating room technician/specialty team lead. The Surgical Technician / Surgical Tech assists surgeons with a variety of surgical procedures and complies with the objectives and policies of the hospital. Provides clinical and administrative supervision of designated specialty, acting as clinical and educational resource to the nursing staff. The Surgical Technician / Surgical Tech effectively and efficiently orders/maintains required par levels of such specialty creating a trouble free environment. Analyzes and reduce supply cost. Required to work flexible hours and be on call nights, weekends and holidays. The Surgical Technician / Surgical Tech has knowledge of adherence of monitoring and compliance of all regulatory and licensing agencies including but not limited to TJC, OSHA, AHCA, CMS, etc.
Position Qualifications (including required licenses/certifications, education and job knowledge/experience):
Graduate of a surgical technology program or equivalent
Minimum of three (3) years OR experience preferred for this Surgical Tech role
Current BLS Certification
Effective oral and written communication skills in the English language
Visual and hearing senses must be adequate to assist with varied operative procedures and surgeonâ��s verbal directives
Ability to perform effectively in fast paced, stressful environment
