The incumbent serves as a generalist in medical technologywith responsibility for performing and developing procedures in the areas of chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, immunology, immunohematology (blood banking), microbiology, point-of-care, specimen procurement and processing. The incumbent at this level develops, performs, evaluates, interprets, correlates, and validates the accuracy of laboratory procedures and results. Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Perform setup and analysis of patient samples for a large variety of clinical laboratory tests. Operation, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory equipment. Performance of quality control procedures. Maintenance and review of laboratory records. Processes specimens using centrifuges, incubators or other instrumentation. Provide efficient customer service to clients who contact the laboratory by phone, or, in person.
