This position is located within the Central Virginia VA Health Care System in Richmond, Virginia. The Supervisory Medical Supply Technician works in support of the Sterile Processing Service management team. The Supervisory Medical Supply Technician is responsible for overall supervision of SPS staff for the decontamination, reprocessing, and Reusable Medical Equipment (RME) inventory management used in the Medical Center and CBOC's. Responsible for the direct supervision of day-to-day operations, regardless of tour of duty for the reprocessing and management of RME. Distributes and prioritizes workload among employees in accordance with establishes workflow and/or job specializations. Plans work schedules to meet anticipated and unanticipated changes in the workload. Provides staff education and completes competencies requirements. Monitors and reports on the status of work through the SPS Quality Assurance program. Ensures SOP's and SPS mandates are followed during the performance of workflow. Reviews work in progress or spot checks work not requiring review to ensure completed work meets work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines. Work Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours per week 8 hour tours. Various Shifts and days available include rotations, weekend, and on-call duties. Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
