Serving others where you’re needed most in the pandemic:
The Nurse Technician will work to meet unit goals for patient care by perform tasks which are most commonly delegated by an RN, to include reporting and documenting observations and assisting with procedures.
Being a “runner” for necessary supplies and equipment. Often the healthcare professional cannot leave the patient bedside, and they need support to get what the patient needs. You could go get it and take it to the patient room or stocking areas, allowing them more direct care time with the patient.
Being an “observer” to ensure healthcare professionals entering the patient rooms don the appropriate PPE before going into the patient room and doff in the proper order to prevent exposure. This is so helpful to keep us all safe!
Supporting tasks as requested, like answering the phones, answering call lights, guiding visitors, answering questions, and getting the necessary help as requested. We’re in this together!
Clearing hallways for patient transport to and from procedures/tests to ensure staff and patients have urgent elevator access and clear passageways. Timely care!
Being a “listening ear” for patients, families, and front-line caregivers – Listening and learning!
