Position Overview: The LIS Quality Assurance Analyst Verifies that entries transmitted from the LIST reach Misys, that EMR is accurate and maintains the quality standards that are expected in the LIS.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to the following):
* Scan Physician PAQ's in Nextgen to identify reporting problems and correct them under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager. * Review referral lab pending logs and resolve outstanding orders. * Correct Ordering Physician using the Access program. * Monitor "wrong patient" demographic file and update when indicated under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager. * Maintain documentation of corrective action taken. * Assist in the interface testing for new tests and new instruments. * Assist in maintaining test code in Nextgen and CLS. * Build tests in both CLS and Nextgen. * Perform related work as required.
Typical Physical Demands:
* Must view and type in computer screen for extended periods of time. * Must sit for extended periods of time. * Requires manual dexterity, vision correctable to 20/20, hearing in the normal range for telephone contacts, and the ability to distinguish words and letters in their proper order.
Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office environment. Work may be repetitious. Work involves contact with other staff.
Clinical Laboratory testing knowledge preferred.
Qualifications and Education:
* Must have the ability to correspond in writing and verbally with clients. * Must be able to file alphabetically and chronologically. * Must be able to type 40 wpm. * Must be able to operate a computer, photocopier, telephone, fax machine and other office equipment. * Must be able to understand laboratory test names and the type of result associated with it. * Associate's Degree or better is preferred with additional knowledge of Laboratory Testing.
