The Integrated Genomics Operation (IGO) enables basic, clinical and translational research projects across the Cancer Center. IGO implements the MSK mission to cure cancer by providing a broad range of genomic services and expertise to our world-class research scientists. We are a high throughput core facility producing >100TB of data per year across >40 applications including fourth generation of genomics technologies such as single cell and spatial transcriptomics.
The IGO sequencing team is seeking an experienced technician to support the team.
The candidate will work with the newest generation of Illumina sequencers (Miseq, Nextseq2K, Novaseq) and learn library QC, pool library samples and load sequencers. IGO has a strong team-based culture and as such, the candidate will interface with many other teams within the lab.
As a Senior Research Technician in the Sequencing Team, you will:
QC NGS libraries following established SOPs.
Plan and pool NGS libraries according to sequencing request.
Load and run Illumina sequencers according to pre-established run plan.
Review analysis of NGS runs in order to maintain the high-quality standards.
Assist group leader to create an efficient and error-proof workflow and troubleshoot data accordingly.

At Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK), we’re not only changing the way we treat cancer, but also the way the world thinks about it. By working together and pushing forward with innovation and discovery, we’re driving excellence and improving outcomes. For the 28th year, MSK has been named a top hospital for cancer by U.S. News & World Report. We are proud to be on Becker’s Healthcare list as one of the 150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare in 2018, as well as one of Glassdoor’s Employees’ Choice Best Place to Work for 2018.
