The Cellular Immunology Laboratory performs a series of assays on various cellular components of the immune system. The assays consist of lymphocyte proliferation by mitogens and antigens, natural killer cell activity, immunophenotyping of lymphocytes, monocytes, granulocytes, bone marrow, peripheral blood progenitor/stem cells, cord blood and leukapheresis products. These studies are relevant in the diagnosis of immunodeficiency disorders and in supervising the effect of therapy on several groups of patients, including those receiving bone marrow transplants or biologic response modifiers.
