Our embryologist will work with all aspects of Andrology works, in-vitro fertilization (IVF) and other programs of assisted reproduction. This includes working with human or animal gametes i.e. sperm, eggs and embryos. Duties include; semen analysis, oocyte retrieval, semen preparations for IVF and IUI, monitoring of embryo development, embryo and sperm cryopreservation, and micromanipulation procedures for ICSI and assisted hatching. Embryo biopsy is preferable but not required. Weekend rotations are required. The individual selected for this critical opportunity, will assist the IVF Lab director in the development and implementation of testing methods, techniques and procedures for laboratory application; set up and evaluate laboratory equipment and make recommendations accordingly; standardize laboratory solutions and develop reagents used in diagnostic work. The embryologist will leverage his or her analytical skills by prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions, as well as reviewing charts for patient cycles and entering outcomes for each cycling patient.
As a member of a cross-functional team, our embryologist will report directly to the IVF Lab Director who will serve as liaison with physicians and related clinic personnel. Provide technical guidance and instruction to technicians, OB/GYN residents, students and other interested personnel in laboratory techniques. The embryologist will also assist with OR procedures including retrievals and embryo transfer: identification, isolation, preparation and culture of gametes for IVF, cryopreservation, and thawing.
Bachelor's degree in biology, zoology, biochemistry or other related scientific field plus (3) years of clinical/research experience in a cell culture Laboratory required.
Experience in an In Vitro Fertilization laboratory preferred. Micromanipulation experience preferred. Responsibility and time flexibility due to weekend rotation. Ability to work as part of a laboratory team and excellent hand-eye coordination.
