Embedded in the campuses with clients across AdventHealth Central Florida Division, the specialist provides strategic-thought partnerships with the manager of internal communications, interacting directly with campus leadership to help develop and execute division-wide holistic strategic communication plans that consider internal and external audiences.
Develop and enhance relationships with key leaders, including the CEO, on the campuses where the specialist provides public affairs counsel.
Assists the planning and execution of public affairs content for internal events on campus and with clients as needed.
Bridges the gap between campus/client leadership and front-line staff, executing action plans and messaging covering a multitude of campus and system goals shared across a variety of internal vehicles.
Actively seeks campus and client-based content for internal and external news stories through meetings with administration, physicians and front-line employees. Content is always relevant, accurate, and timely.
Provides regular and timely updates of news and events on internal websites and throughout the hospital to address the needs of employees and leadership.
Assists with campus-based video production for internal audiences, which may include script writing, capturing, and editing video. May include coordination of production, including talent and location, for outsourced video projects.
Completes projects and publishes content within established or adjusted budget and agreed upon timeframes.
Lead by example and communicate mandates regarding HIPAA, National Patient Safety Goals and other guidelines.
Lead by example and communicate employee policies and patient experience standards.
Working closely with the manager of internal communications, proactively identify and manage potential campus-based and client-based issues and opportunities that would impact Florida Hospital, both internally and externally.
Partner with Public Affairs teams to strategically share external, executive and citizenship activities with internal audiences.
Support the execution of crisis communication plans and assist with communication for emergency management at the local facility or business level management of emergency preparedness across the division.
What You Will Need:
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, especially as applied in a corporate communications setting.
Fundamental knowledge of external news media
Proficient computer and design skills, including MS Office suite and Adobe design software
Ability to provide strategic thought partnership with campus-based leadership.
Well-organized; ability to multi-task and meet deadlines, work independently and take direction
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Broadcast Journalism, Public Relations, Communication, Marketing, English, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field
1 years of relevant experience in marketing, public relations, communication, information systems, or journalism with proven results
Experience managing content for events
The Internal Communications Specialist is directly responsible for the tactical execution of internal communication. The specialist also provides strategic thought partnership to the manager of internal communications, with insight into the unique communication needs of campuses and clients. The specialist regularly works with campus-based leadership, including the campus CEO, to proactively identify both communications needs and potential public affairs issues. Primary responsibility includes managing and elevating employee communications initiatives, including, but not limited to regular written communication, content for Florida Hospital’s internal web portal, and capturing, editing, producing video for use internally and externally. The specialist also writes content for internal collateral and helps the manager coordinate production of materials with our creative design department. The specialist actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
