This position participates in the overall design, building, quality assurance testing, training, and support of the Lab Information System (LIS). Qualified individual will provide first line of support for the LIS and all associated lab applications (e.g. microbiology, blood bank), devices, and interfaces through the knowledgeable use of appropriate technologies and available functionalities.
Design, build, and maintain Lab Information System (LIS) applications and interfaces.
Conducts testing and quality assurance for assigned applications.
Coordinates vendors for functional and technical support of applications, interfaces and equipment.
Participates in project management, as assigned.
Participates in training, support, and development/mentorship of fellow project staff and peers.
Employee will provide day-to-day support of Cerner users, staff and management across all market facilities as well as related contract vendor users.
Employee will rotate on-call for the Cerner team on a variable rotation.
Other duties as assigned.
8 or more years of knowledge and working experience in a hospital lab setting with proficiencies in clinical lab workflows which include, but not limited to, general lab, microbiology, and blood bank specialties.
Experienced with implementing and/or supporting a LIS solution and associated devices a plus.
Experienced in using Microsoft Office suite of products including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, One Note, Teams, and SharePoint.
Ability to commute to hospital labs to assess implementation needs and troubleshoot issues (hardware, workflow, etc.).
Ability to operate various office machines including printers, computers, and various software packages.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Interpersonal skills and clinical expertise to collaborate with lab leaders and stakeholders on requests.
Minimal travel required.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
