As the manager of the pathology, you oversee a team dedicated to providing the best possible care for patients. Under the direction of the Lab Medical Director and Lab Admin Director, this position has overall responsibility, authority, and accountability for managing a multi-site pathology technical lab discipline. Maintains excellence and achieves goals consistently through accurate and timely analysis of laboratory testing, efficient delivery of service, high quality patient care, and physician satisfaction. This position is responsible for setting the highest standards for professionalism and competency, value integrity, and operates the pathology department in an efficient, economical, and businesslike manner. Plans, evaluates, organizes, directs, coordinates, and controls financial, physical, and non-pathologist personnel resources of all technical and/or operational activities within Anatomic Pathology.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in chemical/physical/biological science required; Master’s degree in business or healthcare management or graduate-level management coursework strongly preferred.
Experience: Minimum five years of experience in Anatomic Pathology (Histology or Cytology) plus two years of direct supervisory and/or management of Pathology staff and hospital clinical lab section experience.
Skills: Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
