The incumbent serves as Blood Bank Technical Specialist in Immunohematology at the VA TVHS, Nashville Campus and serves as an expert providing authoritative advice and consultation to bench-level technologists (GS-644-9) for more difficult, complex, or unique tests requiring special knowledge in Blood Banking/Immunohematology. Advises all organizational levels on various aspects of the specialized testing including appropriateness that takes into consideration clinical context. Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.
