The Medical Laboratory Sciences Program in the Department of Health Sciences at the UT Health San Antonio invites applications for a full-time (12 month) faculty position. Primary responsibilities are:
Teach undergraduate (upper-division Bachelors) and graduate (Masters) lecture and laboratory courses in Hematology and Chemistry, microbiology and molecular diagnostics.
Participate in curriculum and program development, implementation, evaluation, and revision.
Engage in collaborative or independent research and scholarly activities with the potential for publication in recognized peer-reviewed journals and external funding.
Participate in professional and University service activities and faculty practice plan as appropriate.
Qualified candidates must have:
Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, MLS(ASCP);
A minimum of master’s degree in an MLS-appropriate discipline, DCLS designation, (PhD preferred); and
Teaching experience in an academic-based, NAACLS-accredited, medical laboratory science education program.

The Medical Laboratory Sciences Program is a NAACLS-accredited medical laboratory sciences program which awards both a BS and an MS in MLS degree. The Department of Health Sciences is one of six departments in the School of Health Professions. In addition to the School of Health Professions, the UT Health San Antonio also has a Medical School, Dental School, Nursing School, and a Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.
