Surgical Technician (ST) is a member of the surgical team and provides assistance to the surgeon and other team members during surgical procedures. The ST participates with the surgical team members and planning and implemented complex procedures under the general supervision of the surgical team. This position is assigned to the Surgical Department of the Medical VA Care Line at the VA Albany Medical Center and reports directly to the Operating Room Nurse Manager. Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.
