The Medical Laboratory Department at the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Fl. is seeking an instructor with expertise in Clinical Laboratory Sciences for a 9-month Instructor appointment starting August, 2024. The successful candidate will be expected to provide exceptional instruction at the undergraduate level. Teaching assignments will be in areas of Medical Laboratory Sciences including Chemistry, Hematology, and Immunohematology and other related fields. The successful candidate will also engage in department, college, university, community, and professional service. The successful candidate will have demonstrated a record of achievement in teaching and service.
Requirements:
The candidate must have a master's in clinical laboratory sciences or other scientific disciplines such as biology or chemistry.
Must have current ASCP Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist and have graduated from a NAACLS accredited MLS program.
Must have a current Florida state license as a Medical Technologist or be willing to obtain one.
Must have teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Must have a Ph.D. or doctorate in Medical Laboratory Sciences or closely related scientific discipline and have a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching and serving.
Experience with online teaching and learning platforms such as Canvas.
Experience with developing and teaching labs both face to face and online.
