A Cath Lab Rad Tech at Clinton Memorial Hospital is highly competent member of the professional health care team, who, through previous clinical experience and education, has shown excellent clinical judgement and is able to perform at a high level of autonomy. Â Actively participate in interventional suite (IS) cases involving complex disease by assisting with the movement and alignment of x-ray equipment as well as the control of radiation throughout procedures. Monitor hemodynamic pressures and document the details of the procedure in the electronic medical record. Deliver exceptional patient care and adheres to radiation standards and guidelines established by radiology agencies to ensure optimal patient safety and customer service.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Sciences or training program.
Licensed as a Registered Radiologic Technologist by the State of OhioÂ
Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification preferred.
BLS and ACLS Preferred before start date.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Â
    Â
·      Responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation to patients
·      Responsible for safe handling of equipment.
·      Instructs and prepares patients for radiographic and/or fluoroscopic examinations.
·      Assesses patient’s understanding of process and informed consent of invasive procedures.
·      Assesses, evaluates and informs physician of changes in patient’s condition during exam.
·      Works under the direction of the Radiologist at all times.
·      Selects appropriate equipment to use for procedure.
·      Determines most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shields patients accordingly.
·      Able to perform special radiographic examinations requiring special equipment and procedures such as: intravenous pyelograms, intravenous cholangiograms, hysterosalpingograms, tomograms, cholangiography, arthrograms, myelograms, hip winnings and vascular procedures in surgery
·      Programs portable or stationary x-ray machines and produces radiographs for a variety of examinations.
·      Sends all information to PACS efficiently and effectively.
·      Practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures.
·      Assists in maintaining basic records and reports.
·      Assists in maintaining files.
·      Assists in training of students and ancillary personnel.
