The Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) Program in the College of Allied Health Professions at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) is seeking applicants for a full-time, 12-month permanent teaching position.
The selected candidate will be responsible for developing, coordinating, instructing, and evaluating curriculum for campus, distance, graduate, and degree advancement students in the Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) Program, as well as pre-professional and other health profession students. Teach using various instructional methods to accommodate diverse learning needs, including educating students on the Omaha and Kearney campuses during the summer student laboratory phase. Oversee clinical experiences by coordinating activities, supporting clinical site liaisons and instructors, and ensuring curricular alignment, evaluation, and student performance monitoring, which requires travel to regional clinical affiliate sites. Provide leadership in student professional development and interprofessional education programs while engaging in independent and collaborative scholarly activities, including presentations, publications, and external funding efforts. Participate in student recruitment, advising, and mentoring, as well as accreditation processes while fulfilling additional assigned duties.

Required: Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science or a related field, earned MLS certification, one year clinical laboratory education experience, and the demonstrated ability to communicate and work as part of a collaborative team.
Supplemental Qualifications: An advanced degree or near completion of an advanced degree in a related field is preferred. Experience in developing and teaching distance education and graduate-level coursework. Expertise in designing and delivering interprofessional curriculum. Demonstrated record of research, scholarly activity, and securing external funding. Active involvement and leadership in professional organizations, with an emerging regional reputation.
